A small, safe suburb of Chicago, Northfield is a sanctuary for the lucky individuals and families who call it home. Northfield is also home to the first passive solar home in the country – the well-known to residents Henry P. Glass house, which was built in 1948 on Dickens Street. Like many homes in Northfield, the Glass house has been meticulously maintained, making it a true pleasure to take a drive down nearly any neighborhood street in town. And, when out for a drive, nothing beats catching a glimpse of the North Branch of Chicago River or the larger Skokie River meandering along Winnetka Road.
